Elmo Rietschle’s side channel blowers are used for conveying gases and gas-air mixtures and are available in a wide variety of performance ranges covering varied requirements of up to 3,000 m3/h and differential pressure of up to 1,000 mbar.
Side channel blower operating principle
Side channel blowers work according to impulse principle technology. Kinetic energy created by a rotating impeller is transferred to the pumping medium and thus converted into pressure. The G Series impeller is mounted directly on the motor shaft and, together with specially shaped housing, this forms the side channel.
Gas enters the side channel through the inlet port, the rotating impeller imparts velocity to the gas and centrifugal force in the impeller blades accelerates the gas outwards, thus increasing the pressure. As the side channel narrows, the gas is swept off the impeller blades and discharged through the outlet.
The G series design guarantees contact free compression and maximum operational reliability, even at high differential pressures.
With a height and width of approximately 125mm and a depth of approximately 60mm, G-BH100 blowers are the smallest side channel blowers available on the market today. Primarily employed in fine mechanical and medical technology applications, their robust design provides amazing reliability.
With their high inlet volume flow of up to 2,500 m³/h and a differential pressure of up to 780 mbar, these reliable, low maintenance, and durable blowers have earned their reputation.
The G-BH2 uses innovative technology to expand the range of performance, meaning this vacuum pump can now be used in completely new applications that were previously inconceivable.
The G-BH7 side channel blower can create pressure differences of up to 1,000 mbar, making it a stand out performer in its category. In fact, it can create more pressure than any other gas ring compressor. These specialist machines have provided fantastic performance, even under the harshest of conditions.
Offering a compact design, the G-BH is about half as large and almost 60% lighter than a comparable machine with the same performance characteristics.
