Rotary Vane Operating Principle

Vane compressor technology is known for its simplicity. This innovative principle is extremely efficient and has few moving parts, meaning it is extremely durable and requires very little maintenance. Providing over 100,000 hours of service life for users, vane compressors work using a positive displacement principle. Air is drawn into the compressor through the intake valve where it is contained in a chamber between the eccentrically positioned rotor and the chamber wall. The air becomes compressed as the rotor turns and the volume decreases. 

In lubricated models, like the Hydrovane range, oil lubricant is injected into the compressor to cool, seal and lubricate. It can then be removed in the oil separator and cleaned further using additional oil separation elements.

Open and enclosed format packages are available with noise levels as low as 62 dB(A), all in Direct drive format with no gears or belts, allowing up to 100,000+ operating hours due to its simple integral design.

Compressors are also available in fixed and regulated speed, ensuring air demand is matched with your business needs.

All Hydrovane compressors are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of installation, but for added peace of mind, enclosed models (HV05 onwards) are covered by the Hydrovane Advance 10 extended warranty programme. This is a unique market leading compressor care package designed to deliver comprehensive warranty cover for up to 10 years or 48,000 operating hours on all Hydrovane compressor air ends.

Open – Fixed Speed  – HV01 – HV04 Models

Small and compact, Hydrovane HV01 – HV04 models are ideally suited for light industrial and workshop applications where the compressed air outlet needs to be situated close to the point of use. Tripod or receiver mounted, they are also available with an Integrated Membrane Dryer.

Enclosed – Fixed Speed and Regulated Speed (RS) – HR04 – HR07RS Models

Taking components that have been developed specifically with energy-saving in mind, Hydrovane’s engineers have developed a rotary vane compressor for the twenty-first century whilst retaining the features which have helped build Hydrovane’s reputation for quality and reliability around the world.

This range also provides the option for an integrated dryer and receiver.

Fully Enclosed – Fixed Speed and Regulated Speed (RS) – HV11 – HV45RS Models

Whilst all Hydrovane rotary vane compressors are designed and built with the highest levels of efficiency in mind, if you’re looking for the ultimate in energy saving technology, we offer our 7.5 to 45 kW machines with a Regulated Speed (RS) option.

RS machines optimise energy efficiency when operated below full load capacity. This can deliver benefits of up to 50% energy savings compared to the equivalent standard fixed speed model.

HV11 – HV22 compressors are also available with integrated dryer and receiver options.
